2018 Gloucester County Certified Gardener Training Program

CLAYTON — The Gloucester County Office of Land Preservation is now accepting applications for the 2018 “Gloucester County Certified Gardener Training Program”.

The Certified Gardeners are trained volunteers who assist county residents by answering their gardening, lawn and insect questions, offer gardening classes to youth and adults, grow vegetables in donation gardens for local food banks, staff displays at community events, and assist the county, municipalities and local organizations with community beautification projects.

Certified Gardener trainees will receive a minimum of 50 hours of training in a variety of horticultural topics taught by leaders in the industry. In exchange for the training, the individual is asked to volunteer 60 hours back to the program.

If you have an interest in gardening and volunteering, this program is for you. Both beginners and experienced gardeners will gain valuable knowledge and experience through this exciting program.

The next round of training classes will be held on Wednesday mornings from 9 a.m. until noon, starting Jan. 10, 2018, and continuing through the early June. For more information, or to receive an application for the program, call The Office of Land Preservation’s Certified Gardeners at 856-307-6456 or email mcummings@co.gloucester.nj.us
