Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, Dec. 7

tree lighting celebrationWOOLWICH TWP. — The 6th Annual Locke Avenue Tree Lighting Ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Locke Avenue Park in Woolwich Township.

This is a free event for the entire family sponsored by the S/W Parks and Recreation Committee and Sharptown North United Methodist Church. There will be heated tents to house the crafts for the kids.

Enjoy cookies and hot chocolate and inflatable rides. There will be free pictures with Santa. And of course, don’t forget the main even, the Lighting of the Tree. Dress warmly and enjoy some holiday celebrating.

Bowling

Swedesboro and Woolwich residents are invited to a Family Bowling Party on Monday, Dec. 30 at the Wood Lanes in Woodstown from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. The entire bowling alley has been rented so come for bowling fun for just $8 per person, cash only.

You will get two hours of bowling, shoe rental, a slice of pizza, soda and a cookie. No early registration required, just meet at the bowling alley. Please arrive by 11:15 a.m. so that we can assign bowling lanes more efficiently.

Hockey Tickets

Start your holiday shopping early with tickets to a hockey game. Parks and Rec is selling tickets to the Philadelphia Flyers NHL Game for Thursday, Jan. 16 at the Wells Fargo Center. The seats are in section 222A and the cost is $50 per ticket. For tickets, please send an email to RSVP@woolwichtwp.org and indicate the number of tickets needed.

A Parks and Rec Committee member will contact you regarding your tickets. There are a limited number of tickets available.

In addition, tickets are being sold to the Adirondack Phantoms Game for Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at 7 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Center. The seats are in section 106 and the cost is $14 per ticket. Again for tickets, please send an email to RSVP@woolwichtwp.org and indicate the number of tickets needed.
