BASCONE — Richard Bascone, 68. Some people live exclusively for others: you’d find Rich in a ripped up shirt and sweat pants, his only concern would be making sure that your clothes were perfect. He started his day off every day at Dunkin Doughnuts before heading up to watch after his grandkids. Rich wasn’t a casual fan: he had lots of opinions about the Phils, Eagles and Flyers and made the trek down to Clearwater to check out spring training. Rich served our nation in Vietnam and he worked for many years as a printer at Color Source in Pennsauken. Quiet times found him listening to some Garth Brooks, watching the Scifi channel, and enjoying reds and whites from the Heritage Winery. He is survived by his wife, Regina; his son, Stephen, and his daughter, Bethann Bennett (Anthony). Poppy called them Little Buckos, but the big guy didn’t stand a chance against his 5 grandchildren: Tyler, Michaela, Nathan, Joshua and Landon. Tyler and Michaela were more like kids to him; he never missed a soccer game or a dance recital.

MURPHY — Virginia A. Murphy, 81. You would have known her as Ginny, Aunt Ginny or Gin Gin. Ginny was raised on a farm, one of 16 children. As a child she saw how hard workers earned high praise and Ginny was never a slouch. To the end Ginny believed in being punctual; she died shoveling out her driveway to head to work at Damask Candies. Of course, come holidays you’d find wearing her bonnet and filling Damask to the roof with candies. She had a green thumb: her Christmas cactus bloomed every Thanksgiving. Cleaning the inside of her home wasn’t enough for Ginny; last year she scrubbed down all her exterior walls. Perhaps the only time she sat still is when Lucy Capri would come over and sit on their outside porch and enjoy the evening air.

A young Ginny Hunt was on a date when another gentleman asked her to dance. That dance was with the late Arthur. They married and were blessed with two sons, David (Diane) of Carney’s Point and Michael of Swedesboro. She is survived by three brothers, Samuel (Anita), Walter (Barbara) and Kenneth (Joyce) Hunt; and sisters, Dorothy (Phil) Coppolino and Edith (Louis) Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Donations to Bethesda U.M. Church, 1433 Kings Highway will be appreciated. Tell a great story about Ginny at lifecelebrationstudio.com.
