logan police2Feb. 16: A Paulsboro Road resident reported that her 32 year old son stole $200 from her in an effort to sustain a drug habit. The accused was arrested by Camden County authorities shortly thereafter and found to be in possession of $200 cash. Complaints are pending.

Feb. 18: Police charged a 26 year old Camden man with receiving stolen property and possession of marijuana after he was stopped on Center Square Road while operating a 2002 Mazda which had been stolen in Camden. The accused, Maurice English, was additionally charged with obstruction of justice, lewdness and improper behavior based on his actions at the time of arrest and during processing. He was processed and remanded to the Salem County Jail in default of $25,000 cash bail.

Feb. 19: A Mickleton resident reported that her car was burglarized while it was parked at the Super Fitness on Beckett Road. The perpetrators broke out the driver’s side window to gain access and stole a Coach purse which was located on the front passenger seat. The purse contained two wallets, cash, credit cards and personal identifiers.

Feb. 19: Police investigated a residential burglary and theft from a residence in the Greenfields development. The victim, a Merle Lane resident, reported that someone entered his home, possibly through a first floor window, and stole a laptop computer and three rings. A Taurus 9mm handgun was also reported stolen. The department urges residents to report suspicious activity no matter how insignificant it may seem. If you see something, say something.

Feb. 19: Police arrested a 28 year old Logan man on multiple warrants following a report of suspicious activity in the Logan Woods development. The man was processed and committed to the Salem County Jail in default.

Feb. 20: Representatives of a business on Killdeer Court reported that someone entered a company truck and removed a Garmin GPS unit located therein.

Feb. 20: Police charged a 32 year old Salem man with aggravated assault with a weapon following a disturbance at a business on Sharptown Road. The accused allegedly threatened a co-worker with a utility knife during a dispute and then slashed the victim’s jacket with the knife. He was processed and released on his own recognizance with a no contact provision.

Feb. 20: A Collegeville, PA man reported that he was assaulted by a co-worker following a dispute at a business on Pedricktown Road. Complaints may be pending.

Feb. 22: Police investigated a burglary and theft from an unoccupied building on Oldmans Creek Road. The person or persons responsible entered forcibly through a rear window and, once inside, removed all the piping throughout the house.

Feb. 25: UPS Loss Prevention reported an internal theft from their warehouse on Birch Creek Road after an employee was found with a ring in his pocket. The employee, a 59 year old Camden man, was terminated in lieu of charges. The ring, valued at $115 was recovered and returned to inventory.

Feb. 26: The Department continues to receive reports of phone scams involving callers posing as IRS agents and demanding money or identifying information from unsuspecting residents. Everyone is reminded that legitimate businesses and government agencies do not use “shake down” tactics. Feb. 26: Police charged a 29 year old Penns Grove man with simple assault following a disturbance at a warehouse on the 300 block of Heron Drive. The man fled following the incident and service is pending.

Feb. 27: A Bridgeport man reported that someone tried to force entry into a detached garage by forcing open the overhead door. The door was damaged, however nothing was reported stolen.

Feb. 27: Police charged a 51 year old Woolwich man with multiple motor vehicle offenses including DWI following a Paulsboro Road vehicle stop. The man was initially stopped for passing a marked police car in a no passing zone while travelling at a high rate of speed. He was processed and released pursuant to John’s Law.

March 3: Police arrested a 45 year old Norristown, PA man on an outstanding warrant out of Delran. He was additionally charged with possession of marijuana following a search incident to arrest. He posted and was processed and released pending court.

March 4: Officers arrested a 29 year old Penns Grove man at his place of employment on Center Square Road after it was discovered he was wanted (NCIC) for aggravated assault out of the Salem County Prosecutors Office. He was processed and remanded to the Salem County Jail in default of $200,000 full cash bail.

March 4: Police charged an 18 year old Bridgeport man and a 19 year old Gibbstown man with possession of drug paraphernalia following a vehicle stop on Center Square Road. They were processed and released pending court.

March 5: Representatives of a Heron Drive trucking company reported that the wheels and tires were stolen from two trucks parked in their lot sometime overnight. The tractors had jacked up and resting on their axels when discovered. One of the trucks fell from its cribbing and was damaged as well. The total loss was estimated at $9,000.

March 9: A Pedricktown man reported that an acquaintance borrowed his car, a 2000 Honda Civic, while he was working on Technology Drive and failed to return it. The car was entered NCIC and subsequently located abandoned on Kaighn Avenue in Camden City. Complaints are pending against the accused, a 35 year old Penns Grove woman.

March 11: The Department investigated several reports of phone scams involving callers posing as IRS agents and demanding money or identifying information from unsuspecting residents. Once again, residents are reminded that legitimate businesses and government agencies do not use “shake down” tactics.

March 14: A Woolwich Township woman reported that her vehicle was burglarized while it was parked in the Super Fitness lot on Beckett Road. The suspect gained entry by breaking out the front passenger side window and, once inside, removed a “Marc Jacobs” handbag which contained various work related documents.

March 15: An Egg Harbor Township woman reported that her vehicle was burglarized while it was parked at the DREAM Park on Rt. 130. The suspect gained entry by breaking out the rear passenger side window and, once inside, removed a purse containing her checkbook, personal identifiers and a debit card.

March 17: Police charged a 21 year old Logan Township man with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a vehicle stop on Center Square Road. He was processed and released pursuant to John’s Law.

March 17: Police charged a 47 year old Swedesboro woman with DWI following a vehicle stop on High Hill Road. She was processed and released as per John’s Law.

March 18: Police charged a 32 year old Pedricktown man with hindering apprehension after he provided false information to officers during a crash investigation.

March 18: A High Hill Farms resident reported that someone entered her residence and stole a check from her checkbook. The check was then cashed in the amount of $212 at a nearby bank. Police are reviewing surveillance footage and complaints are pending suspect identification.
