BAUER — Phillip John Bauer. Once a Marine, always a Marine. Phillip headed to Paris Island immediately following high school. There he learned their code of conduct which he followed throughout his life. Honor was always first on the list. Generosity may have been second. Phillip was always the first to have his wallet open if there was a friend or family in need. Money and material goods were just never that important to him. In the end he believed all you have is your word. He shared these life lessons with his daughters. It was easy to tell if he liked you: he’d tag you with a nickname. When their family started to grow Phil brought his family to Logan Township and later moved to Mullica Hill when his kids were raised. After serving in Vietnam Phillip returned home to Philadelphia and joined the Chevron Co. He stayed there as part of the management team until retirement. PARKER — Robert John Parker, 67. He was always industrious: in his teen years Bob delivered for a pharmacy and a deli. The pay was good but so were the sandwiches from the deli: a growing boy needs to eat. It was also enough money for Bob to buy his first car, a VW: Bob’s car addiction had begun. In later years it was Fords that followed him home a couple of times a year, always bought from Ace Motors. Not only did he buy there but he took his insurance clients to Woodbury to make sure his favorite salesmen gave them a good deal. Of course he always made sure that his clients got more than just insurance from him; listening is a powerful skill. Bob was larger than life and could play the crowd surrounding him keeping them laughing: he claimed he had received a certificate of occupancy from Upper Darby High not a diploma. A funny joke, but no one doubted his math skills. A company Bob was with sent out post cards for sales leads. One landed on Patricia Moore’ s doorstep. Not only did he make a sale but their friendship grew into a 20 year marriage.

Bob is survived by two sisters, Lowanda Jennings and Barbara Gall; children: Christian, Christopher, Justin and Michele Parker and Allison Butler and his tail wagging buddy, Molly. BOCK — Donald Bock Sr., 87. He was a husband and father for the ages. As a manager for his son’s ice hockey team, Don never missed a game even if it involved driving five hours. Referees would get an earful if he thought they weren’t being fair. Don was a member of the greatest generation. He interrupted college to fight for our freedoms. His collection of books about the Civil War, WWI and WWII rivaled most libraries and he knew just about everything about military aircraft. His favorite planes were the F-4U Corsair and the P-40 Warhawk. When the Colts abandoned his hometown of Baltimore he changed his allegiances to the Eagles. Family was most important to Don; he didn’t believe in in-laws. When Don Jr married, Kim became his daughter. His passion for his sons’ football and ice hockey were replaced by dance recitals and soccer when his granddaughters came along, but he enjoyed them with the same amount of passion. Earlier years found him doing sales for many companies and he later owned his own company selling stationary for banks and title companies. A young Don met a girl named Virginia Upchurch. Though they both were involved with other people they never looked back. Their 59 year marriage was blessed by two sons, Donald (Kimberly) and Dann and two granddaughters, Samantha (Josh Cooper) and Allie (Oscar Rau); Pre-deceased by his parents C.
