PEOPLE IN TRANSITION: FEBRUARY WORKSHOPS

people webDEPTFORD TWP. —  The Center for People in Transition at Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC) hosts a number of empowerment, health and financial workshops during the month of February. Unless otherwise noted, all workshops are free and open to the public. Registration is mandatory. Call 856-415-2222 or email peopleintransition@rcgc.edu to register. You must be 18 years or older to attend.

“Declutter Your Life: Time, Mind & Emotional Management” — Sharon White, MSW, LCSW, will show you how to lead a clutter-free life by improving your time management skills, changing unhelpful thought patterns and learning how to effectively communicate your feelings. In this training you will learn to identify the habits and unhelpful thinking patterns that cycle into procrastination, ineffective use of time and poor communication, resulting in stress and anxiety. This workshop will be held on Monday, Feb. 6 from 6:30-9 p.m. This workshop is sponsored by Heart of South Jersey and People in Transition.

“Beyond Emotions – Financial Strategies for Divorcees” — Monique Castillo, Financial Advisor, will give you the tools you need to stay focused on protecting your financial interests when dealing with the emotional turmoil of a divorce. This workshop will provide guidance for protecting interests in pre-, during and post-divorce stages. You will learn how to understand your new financial situation, the important considerations you may need to address and what next steps are necessary to take control of your financial life. An actionable checklist will be provided to help you stay on task and secure the best possible outcome. This workshop will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 15 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

“Understanding Your Credit Score” — Join Tammy Fertel of South Jersey Federal Credit Union to learn all about your credit score and what steps you can take to improve it.  This workshop will be held on Thursday, Feb.16 from 6-7:30 p.m. This workshop is sponsored by Hearth of South Jersey and People in Transition.

“How to Figure Out Your Meaning and Purpose After a Life Transition” — Sharon Roth-Lichtenfeld, Certified Professional Life Coach, understands that life is full of transitions and some transitions can result in emotional pain. When your meaning and purpose in life changes you may feel lost or unsure. Join Sharon to learn how to reconnect with your purpose and begin your journey back to well-being. This workshop will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 22 from 7-9 p.m. This workshop is sponsored by United Way of Gloucester County and People in Transition.

“Advanced Care Planning” — Anna Miller, Community Liaison for Vitas Healthcare, is leading a workshop for anyone who has a loved one who is coping with a serious illness, deterioration of quality of life and frequent trips to the emergency room. Vitas Healthcare provides care for patients with a wide range of life-limiting illnesses. Serving as a caregiver can be overwhelming – find how Vitas Healthcare can help. This workshop will be held on Thursday, Feb. 23 from 6:30-8 p.m. This workshop is sponsored by Heart of South Jersey and People in Transition.

“Nutrition & Fitness: A Way of Life, Not a Temporary Fix” — Cheryl McBride, Director of RCGC Student Affairs and RYT Certified Instructor, knows that healthy eating and fitness are not a destination, but a way of life. Join her for a workshop designed to enable you to take control of your lifestyle by equipping you to make better decisions when it comes to eating and exercising. Learn to exercise your mind and your body so you can enjoy better health. Vision board design will be included. This workshop will be held on Monday, Feb. 27 from 6-9 p.m. This workshop is sponsored by Heart of South Jersey and People in Transition.

Rowan College at Gloucester County’s 250-acre campus is located on Tanyard Road in Deptford, just off Exit 56 off of Route 55.
