Township Line Park Sports Field Lighting – Investing in our Children

LOGAN TWP. — Understanding the importance of investing in our children and the community, Logan Township has proceeded with installation of lighting for the soccer fields and the softball field at Township Line Park.

In late 2017, the township awarded the purchase and installation of lights for soccer and softball.  The contractors have been working to get these installed through the winter.

Poles have been set, lights are in and underground conduits have been run.  As soon as electrical panels arrive the installation will be finished, and the lights will be ready for use.

The lighting improvements were selected with improved energy efficiency, low glare and lighting controls to help protect the environment and keep energy costs low. The improved lighting will also improve safety as it is consistent with play standards and steps above the rented lights that have been used in the past. Adding lights also provides longer play times for the fields.

The township is proud of their community and happy that residents will be able to enjoy these improved amenities. They feel strongly that supporting activities and sports and keeping children active and involved helps promote character development and a better quality of life.
