Gas Pipeline Given New Route Through Logan and Woolwich

reroute webWOOLWICH TWP. – Columbia Pipeline Group has announced that it is changing its originally proposed route through Logan and Woolwich Township.

The new route will have the pipeline go down Center Square Road through Logan Township for approximately 2 miles, then head west on Pedricktown Road for half mile. The route would then turn south down Oldmans Creek Road for 4.5 miles, going past the elementary school, head east for 3.5 miles running parallel to the New Jersey Turnpike and then connect to the Swedesboro Station on Monroeville Road. Horizontal directional drilling will be used near the station to avoid additional tree clearing and a parcel in the Green Acres program.

This route was made to utilize existing right of way locations along roads. Further consideration was taken into account to avoid disruption to farming and land development. The proposed route will not be co-located with another interstate transmission line as was previously considered.

The original route went 7.4 miles along Center Square Road to the turnpike.
