Joseph F. Bouvier, Esquire of Mattioni, Ltd, has been re-appointed as a member of the Greater Swedesboro Business Association Board of Directors for 2014. The Greater Swedesboro Business Association promotes trade and commerce in and around the greater Swedesboro area. Bouvier has been an active member for eight years, providing his expertise and support in many different aspects of the GSBA. Bouvier has also served as Chairman for the GSBA’s annual golf tournament since 2006. The event continues to be successful and has grown larger each year.  The funds raised from the golf tournaments have allowed the GSBA, among many other things, to add a scholarship program for local high school students, print an annual Business Directory for residents and businesses and to contribute a sizable donation to the local Swedesboro and Logan branches of the Gloucester County Library System. The GSBA engages in local civic affairs, supports educational and charitable endeavors and preserves the local business and historic district. Mattioni, Ltd. has provided legal services from its Swedesboro office for more than a decade.

Michael Friel of Mickleton, a 2012 Kingsway Regional High School graduate and current third year undergraduate at American University (AU) in Washington, D.C., participated in the 2014 National Collegiate Research Conference (NCRC) at Harvard University. Harvard hosts the NCRC every January to provide the best platform for invited undergraduates from across the nation and from overseas to share their research. The NCRC promotes the advancement of a national research community for undergraduate students in the global research sphere. The conference featured distinguished speakers, panelists and select student presenters, of which, this year, Michael was one. Michael was invited to the conference to share research he had completed on the effect of privatized American funding on the Northern Ireland Conflict. Michael is currently enrolled in AU’s School of International Service where he is studying International Relations with a focus on United States Foreign Policy towards Europe, while simultaneously interning for the United States Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
