SWEDESBORO—The Greater Swedesboro Business Association (GSBA) recently awarded Kingsway Regional High School graduate Danielle Davis with its second annual $1,000 scholarship.

Davis’ scholarship essay highlighted Swedesboro’s character along with its need for an organic supermarket. “The writing prompt allowed me to express my ideas about how connected businesses are with Swedesboro,” Davis said.

If her business were given $10,000, Davis would use the money to hold free cooking classes to educate the community on healthy food preparation, focusing on eliminating GMOs. If that same community enabled her business to thrive, she would donate $10,000 to the American Cancer Society, a cause that she holds dear.

Davis will major in political science when she attends Rowan University this fall. Her plight may include getting more campuses to become smoke free.

The GSBA plans to offer the $1,000 scholarship each year to a Kingsway Regional High School senior. For more information, please visit www.greatersba.org.
