Swedesboro hosts 8th Annual Jazzfest

jazz story webSWEDESBORO — Historic Swedesboro will host 12 bands with an eclectic mix of genres in seven inspiring venues. A genre for everyone has been implemented for this year’s festival, not all jazz.
Artists include: Karen Rodriguez Latin Jazz Ensemble, sultry sounds of Salsa, Cha-Cha, Bolero, Bossa Nova and Latin Jazz – Annabelles Rose Trio, Classical Arrangements to Jazz Standards – Luke Abruzzo Trio, Straight Ahead Jazz – Luke is guitarist for the All SouledOut Band, Cold Blue Electric, Jazz/Rock Fusion, Bocco Socks, Funky and Swinging, back for the 7th year – Pete Devine & Robert Cambell Guitar Duo, Brazillian Groove –“Nothing is more beautiful than a guitar, save perhaps two”- Frederic Chopin – Alburger/Harms & Jennifer, Eclectic Blend and Irish Folk Tunes – Happy Band, Jazz Standards, Funk & Soul – Rich Budesa Organ Trio, Hammond B-3 Organist, Rich Budesa teams up with Jazz/Blues Master Guitarist Johnny DeFrancesco (of the famous DeFrancesco family) blistering Blues, Funk, Soul and Jazz – Trio Nova, Jazz, Pop and Bossa Nova, New Orleans Jazz Quartet aka “The Red Garter Band” back by popular demand.
This year’s Jazzfest will host a diverse array of musicians highlighting talent throughout the Delaware Valley. Each of the seven venues along with the musicians has been handpicked by the committee for your enjoyment.
Check out the acoustically stunning arched ceiling of Trinity Episcopal Church. South of SoHo Boutique a premiere women’s clothing boutique, featuring sophisticated designer apparel, shoes, hand bags and accessories is an added venue this year.
Music lovers can find food and spirits at the totally remodeled and renovated Tavro 13, (formerly Swedes Inn). Sweetsboro Pastry Shoppe just across the street from Tavro, is a fantastic spot for a treat and a coffee. Mama Francesca, Italian dishes and pizza, is (BYOB). Get some Chinese food at the Great Wall and treat yourself to your favorite smoke from the Cigar Vault as you stroll from venue to venue.
The Wine Tent located at Schoener’s Service Station, hosts New Jersey wineries, information and tickets. Ticket holders can purchase wine by the glass or by the bottle.
Olde Kings’Jazzfest is sponsored by Swedesboro Economic Development Committee. Advanced ticket price online is $15.00 via Pay Pal or Swedesboro Borough Hall, 856-467-0202 (Cash Only). Prices on the day of are $20, children 12 and under free with a paying adult.
