Arrest Made In Sears Distribution Thefts

logan policeLOGAN TWP. — Police here have charged a 37 year old Camden County woman with theft following an extensive investigation into multiple incidents of merchandise being shipped fraudulently from a Logan Twp. distributor to “customers” throughout the Tri-State area.

Over the course of the past two and a half years, Kim Watson of Clementon, allegedly fabricated orders while acting in her capacity as an inventory clerk at Sears Distribution at 2100 Center Square Road. The investigation findings allege that Watson would receive cash payments or barter for services in return for placing orders for high end electronics, appliances, bedding and other merchandise carried by Sears.

The total retail monetary loss for the products that were ordered for her “clients” was estimated at approximately $3.7 million. The net loss is approximately $2.6 million.

As a result, Watson has been charged with second degree theft with bail set at $50,000. She was processed and remanded to the Salem County Jail in default.

Logan Police were assisted by the Gloucester County Prosecutors Office and Sears Loss Prevention.
