Free Vision Screenings Offered By County

eye test webWOODBURY — Gloucester County Freeholders announced that Gloucester County continues to offer free eye screenings twice a month for all county adults and children over the age of 4. This service is provided by the Board of Chosen Freeholders and the NJ Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired in an effort to prevent or limit the impact of vision loss in our county.

Gloucester County is providing the free exams for both children and adults; parents can bring in their children and have their own eyes checked as well. Children under the age of 18 will need the signature of a parent or guardian.

The Gloucester County Division of Disability Services offers the free eye screenings at two locations including evening hours. On the second Wednesday of every month from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Gloucester County Health Department, 204 East Holly Ave., Sewell, and on the last Wednesday of every month from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Shady Lane Home, 256 County House Road, Clarksboro.

Upcoming appointments are available on March 25 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Shady Lane Home. An appointment is required. Please call (856) 384-6842 to make an appointment for free eye screening for yourself and family members. Walk-ins are accepted for Glaucoma screenings only.
