This year marks Mario’s 5th Annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand on Saturday, June 6 at the Woolwich Fire Department. Among the family friendly activities, there will be a fire truck blow up slide, face painting, airbrush tattoos, and an auction with baskets to match everyone’s interests.

There will also be food, ice cream, and lemonade. Mario also helped to design a very special shirt and support bracelet to commemorate the milestone lemonade stand.

Mario has set his sights high this year, aiming to raise over $60,000 for the Foundation and the battle to find better treatments and ultimately cures for all kids with cancer. Helping Mario along the way will be family, friends and supporters who have deemed themselves Mario’s Fight.

Mario’s fundraising efforts began on April 18 at Uncork Your Art in Logan Township where everyone was told to bring their creative energy and their favorite beverage and paint the night away. Five dollars of every registered guest for the two-hour lemonade themed wine glass class was donated back to Mario’s $60,000 goal.

Members of Mario’s Fight also hosted a family fun jump night on April 22 at High Elevations Trampoline Park in Sewell where $3 for every paid jumper with a Mario’s Fight flyer presented was donated back to the organization. You could also find Mario’s Fight during the 4th Annual Comet Run at the Governor Charles Stratton School in Woolwich Township.

Mario Carpino has been battling inoperable brain tumors since 2007. Though he has endured treatment for over eight years, Mario’s spirit has been unbreakable and he enjoys spending time with his friends, listening to music, and of course raising funds for his cause. To date, Mario’s efforts have raised just over $228,000.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $60 million toward fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 275 research projects nationally.
