gcba scholarship webLOGAN TWP. – The Gloucester County Board will hold a fundraising banquet to benefit their Agriculture Scholarship on Saturday, March 19 at The Dream Park.

Tickets are $20. The event begins at 6 p.m. with doors open at 5:30. The banquet will offer food and beverages, wine tasting by Heritage Vineyards and Cedarvale Winery, desserts and chocolate tasting, a WAWA coffee bar, door prizes and music.

Tickets can be purchased from any board member or at Heritage Vineyards, 480 Mullica Hill Road, Mullica Hill or by calling 856-589-4474. The Dream Park is located at 400 US Rt. 130 in Logan Township.

All proceeds go toward Gloucester County students interested in pursuing agriculture related majors.

Each year the Gloucester County Board of Agriculture awards a $2,000 scholarship to Gloucester County residents who will be pursuing an education to prepare for a career in agriculture or a related field. High school seniors or students currently enrolled in any accredited college or university, studying an agriculture related program are encouraged to apply.

The scholarship is available for one year and the applicant may reapply for a second year, but will be judged against other candidates. The first $1,000 is awarded for the first semester and if the student maintains at least a “C” average, the second $1,000 is released for the second semester.

Additionally, special consideration will be given to students of families who are New Jersey Farm Bureau members, but applicants who are not members will still be accepted and considered.
