January 9, 2016 officially became “Chief Russell H. Marino Day” in Swedesboro, as proclaimed by Swedesboro Mayor Tom Fromm and Council, in honor of Retired Police Chief Russell H. Marino for his six years of service to the community. Among the almost 100 dignitaries, colleagues, friends and family gathered at Botto’s Italian Line Restaurant on Jan. 9, New Jersey Senate President Steve Sweeney presented Marino with a Joint Senate and Assembly Legislative Resolution on behalf of himself and Assemblymen John Burzichelli and Adam Taliaferro. He noted Marino’s distinguished service for 37 years in law enforcement in Gloucester County, most recently serving for 18 years as Police Chief in Woolwich Township and jointly for six years in Swedesboro.
