2 Local Veterans Honored

salutesilhouetteUS1.eps5WOODBIRY –Two local veterans were be among 25 honored by the Gloucester County Office of Veterans Affairs on April 13 at 7p.m. in the gymnasium of Bankbridge School.

The local veterans honored were: Paul M. Turner of the United States Army.  He served during the Afghanistan War with the rank Sergeant.  Turner was born in Stratford, NJ and now resides in Swedesboro. Glen R. Walk of the United States Army with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2.  Walk was born in Sacramento, CA and now resides in Mullica Hill.

Freeholder Director Robert Damminger said, “Our veterans deserve our deepest appreciation and thanks. These men sacrificed time with their families and risked their lives to protect us here at home. For that we are grateful.”

Freeholder Deputy Director Giuseppe ‘Joe’ Chila, liaison to Veterans Affairs said, “It is with great honor that the Gloucester County Office of Veterans Affairs holds this medal ceremony. It is the least we can do for the veterans who fought for our freedom.”

This event is open to the public and free of charge.
