people webDEPTFORD TWP. — The Center for People in Transition at Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC) hosts a number of empowerment, health and financial workshops during the month of June.

Unless otherwise noted, all workshops are free and open to the public. Registration is mandatory. Call 856-415-2222 or email to register. You must be 18 years or older to attend.

“Effective Parenting and Positive Discipline: Moving From Chaos to Connection” —

Join Jessica Jolly, Associate Professor of Psychology, and learn how to shift from chaos to connection as you enhance your knowledge of effective parenting strategies that eliminate power struggles and exhaustive battles. This two-part workshop series will provide information on positive discipline strategies that parents can use to help their children improve their behavior at all stages of development. The goal of this series is to offer parents the skills and support they need to create harmony at home and help children build confidence through example-led guidance. This workshop will be held on Mondays, June 5 and 12 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. This workshop is sponsored by Heart of South Jersey and People in Transition.

“Get Unstuck: How to Break Through the Four Emotional Blocks” — Sharon Roth-Lichtenfeld, Certified Professional Life Coach, knows how paralyzing tragedy can be. Sometimes it feels like there is an invisible barrier inside that stops you from moving forward after a divorce, separation, death of loved one or any major life event. Learn the four major emotional blocks and strategies to break them down. This workshop will be held on Wednesday, June 7 from 7 to 9 p.m. This workshop is sponsored by United Way of Gloucester County and People in Transition.

Rowan College at Gloucester County’s 250-acre campus is located on Tanyard Road in Deptford, just off Exit 56 off of Route 55.
