WOODBURY — Andrew Turner, 23, of Williamstown, and Kenkell Francis, 41, of Camden, have been charged by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office with kidnapping, criminal restraint, attempted homicide, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, and conspiracy in connection with an Aug. 24, 2016 incident in Woolwich Township.
The victim was kidnapped at gunpoint by Turner and Francis along with one other individual in Camden. He was driven around for several hours before stopping in Woolwich Township where the victim escaped and was shot at three times, with one shot striking his left hand.
Turner was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force in Voorhees Township. The second defendant, Francis, is currently in custody on unrelated charges at the Salem County Correctional Facility and was served with his charges there.
The arrest was the result of a joint investigation by the GCPO, Woolwich Police Department and Camden Metro Police.
“This multi-county investigation resulted in arrests due to persistent police work,” said Prosecutor Sean F. Dalton. “These are dangerous individuals and we are pleased they will be held accountable for their actions. I want to thank Camden Metro, Woolwich Police Department and the GCPO Investigators for their fine work.”
