PEOPLE IN TRANSITION OCTOBER WORKSHOPS

DEPTFORD TWP. — The Center for People in Transition at Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC) hosts a number of empowerment, health and financial workshops during the month of October.

Unless otherwise noted, all workshops are free and open to the public. Registration is mandatory. Call 856-415-2222 or email peopleintransition@rcgc.edu to register. You must be 18 years or older to attend.

“Get Started with Google and Gmail” — Lauri Kuder, Microsoft Office Master, is leading a workshop for those who are new to Google and Gmail. If you have an existing Gmail account, please come prepared with your username and password. If you do not have an existing account, Lauri will help you create one in class.

All of the basics of email use will be covered, including how to utilize the “cloud” to save and attach files. This workshop will be held on Monday, October 9 from 6 – 9 p.m. This workshop is sponsored by Heart of South Jersey.

“How to Use Google and Gmail More Effectively” — Join Lauri Kuder, Microsoft Office Master, for a workshop focused on developing one of the most critical skills you can have today – email proficiency. Gmail is one of the most popular, free email programs available today – but there is more to it than meets the eye!

This workshop will take your skills to the next level by introducing tips and tricks for using Google and Gmail and teaching you how to create, manage and share documents and pictures. This workshop will be held on Monday, October 16 from 6 – 9 p.m. This workshop is sponsored by Heart of South Jersey.

“Who Am I Now? Dealing with Loss of a Relationship, Role, Identity or Job” —  Life is easier when you have a role to play, an identity that you are comfortable with and a purpose that defines you. With the loss of these things comes a sense of sorrow. You may feel ungrounded and your outlook can shift in ways you do not expect.

Join Sharon Roth-Lichtenfeld, Certified Professional Life Coach, to learn how to cope with the loss you have experienced and discover the new you. This workshop will be held on Wednesday, October 18 from 7 – 9 p.m. This workshop is sponsored by United Way of Gloucester County.

“ABC’s of End of Life Planning” — If you have a loved one coping with serious illness, deterioration of quality of life and frequent trips to the hospital, Vitas Healthcare can help provide solutions in this workshop for caregivers. Vitas Healthcare provides care for adult and pediatric patients with a wide range of life-limiting illnesses. Serving as a caregiver can be overwhelming – join Anna Miller, Vitas Community Liaison, for a discussion on how Vitas Healthcare can help. This workshop will be held on Tuesday, October 24 from 6:30 – 8 p.m.

“Self-Esteem” — Jessica Jolly, Associate Professor of Psychology, knows that the key to a happy personal life and a successful career is healthy self-esteem. You can raise your self-esteem with a little bit of knowledge and practice.

Jessica will provide techniques for improving self-esteem and opportunities to put your newfound knowledge to work. This workshop will be held on Wednesday, October 25 from 6 – 9 p.m. This workshop is sponsored by United Way of Gloucester County.

Rowan College at Gloucester County’s 250-acre campus is located on Tanyard Road in Deptford, just off Exit 56 off of Route 55.
