Church compiles hygiene kits to aid in disaster relief

SWEDESBORO — First Baptist Church of Swedesboro continues to live out the mission of Jesus Christ, as a missional church.

“We literally ‘flipped the script’ for our 126th Church Anniversary on November 4th.  Instead of feeding ourselves a celebratory church dinner, we all gathered after service and worked hard to aid the victims of natural disasters, by putting together one thousand Hygiene kits,” said Dr. Philip Ginyard, Sr. Pastor of FBCS

These kits contained all types of toiletry bottles and towels. They were compiled, packaged and shipped in over 20 massive boxes to Convoy Of Hope. The hygiene kits are a part of the volunteer program for this organization.

Convoy of Hope is a faith-based, nonprofit organization. They aid victims of natural disasters and empower others to live independent lives free from poverty, disease and hunger. They have aided more than 100 million people throughout the world, by providing food, water, emergency supplies and agricultural know-how; then mobilizing tens of thousands of volunteers each year to serve in areas impacted.

At First Baptist Church of Swedesboro, they are humbled and grateful that they could be a blessing through this massive effort to aid others around our nation experiencing great difficulty with this tangible package of hope.
