Kingsway names Robinson as new girls’ head basketball coach

WOOLWICH TWP. — The Kingsway Regional School District has named Lamont Robinson, high school history teacher and graduate of the University of Oklahoma, the new head coach of the high school’s girls’ basketball team replacing Felicia Jenkins.

Coach Robinson has held the assistant boys’ basketball position at Kingsway for the past two years. He was an outstanding athlete himself in high school and college and brings a wealth of coaching knowledge in multiple sports, including football, basketball, track and field, wrestling from various high schools including Millville and Washington Township. Although Coach Robinson earned an athletic scholarship to the University of Oklahoma for football, his passion has always been coaching basketball.

“One of his strongest qualities is he has an energy and enthusiasm to work with students and the ability to build strong and lasting relationships with them, said Dr. James J. Lavender, Superintendent. “His passion and positive attitude will be an asset to our girls program just as it was to our boys program”, continued Lavender.
