Adults:

Needle Arts: Crochet, Knit or Sew Night! – Tuesday, April 16, 6:30 p.m. Learn how to sew, knit or crochet or get help with your own project. Be sure to register at www.gcls.org.

FREE GED/HSE Preparation and Testing – Tuesdays, April 9, 16, 23, & 30 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Wednesdays, April 10, 17, & 24 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The classes are for High School Equivalency preparation and testing. Classes will also be available at other GCLS library branch locations on different dates and times. Please check our online calendar for details.

Job Readiness Program:  

50 Top Interview Questions & Applications – Wednesday, April 10, 4-5:30 p.m. Meet with an expert and learn the 50 most asked interview questions and receive guidance on the best way to answer. Also receive assistance filling out a job application.

Dress for Success & Interview Etiquette – Wednesday, April 17. 4-5:30 p.m. Learn from an expert what to wear on a job interview. Also receive interview etiquette tips and suggestions.

Interview Practice – Wednesday, April 24, 4-5:30 p.m. Practice interview questions with an expert in the field. A great way to be prepared for your next interview!

Yoga for Everyone – Fridays, April 5 & 19, 10:30 a.m. Learn basic yoga positions, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques. Please bring your own mat or towel and a water to drink.Space is limited, be sure to register.

3-D Floral Art – Wednesday, April 10, 6:30 p.m. Create a 3-D floral art picture using a paint canvas, paints and artificial flowers. Space is limited. Please be sure to register at www.gcls.org.  

Tropical Paper Flowers – Wednesday, April 24, 6:30 p.m. Create beautiful tropical flowers made out of paper to put in your house all year long. Space is limited so be sure to register!

Adult Book Club – Tuesday, April 23, 7 p.m. Join the Swedesboro Library Adult Book Club! April’s selection will be The Lost City of the Monkey God by Douglas Preston. For more information call 856-467-0111 or register at www.gcls.org.

Tween/Teens:

Tween Book Club – Saturday, April 6, 11 a.m. April’s selection will be Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick. Be sure to register at www.gcls.org

Teen Writers’ Club – Monday, April 8. 7 p.m. Do you love writing? Join us on the second Mondays of each month.  This time will be devoted to writing!  You can work on your own writing or pull ideas from our binder. Your writings may be published in our Teen Express Literary Magazine.

Teen/Tween Gaming – Join us on Thursday, April 11, 6:30-8 p.m. Play Xbox, Wii, DS’s, and traditional board and card games. Bring a friend and have a great time! 

Anime Club – Monday, April 22, 5 p.m. Anime meets on the fourth Mondays at 5 p.m. Feel free to come dressed in costume. You can also bring Pokemon cards or Yu Gi Oh cards to play, watch an Anime movie/show and/or draw Manga characters.  

Teen Advisory Board – We welcome teens to join our Teen Advisory Board. Teen Board members will learn library skills, help plan teen activities, contribute to our quarterly teen newsletter and/or work with children by becoming a Literacy Buddy. Call 856-467-0111 for more information.

Literacy Buddies – We are looking for teens interested in becoming a Literacy Buddy.  Teens can work one-on-one with a child who needs help with reading, math, homework, or learning English. Commitment is one hour a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays from 4 to 5 p.m. Call 856-467-0111 for more information or stop in and fill out a volunteer form.

Children:

FURever as Friends –   Monday, April 15, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Visit with our therapy animals, read to them, share a picture book, brush their coat, and/or give them a treat.  Some of our animals even do tricks!  Registration is not required.  Permission slips to visit our animals are available at the front desk. All ages welcome!

Literacy Buddies – Does your child need help with homework, reading or learning English – call us at 856-467-0111 and we will try to match your child with a Teen Volunteer. Literacy buddies will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, from 4-5 p.m. Let us know which day is best for you.

Toddlers & Babies:

Saturday Storytime (Toddler Tales) – Saturday, April 13, 10:30 a.m. Join our once-a-month Saturday storytime. Listen to stories and do a fun craft! Storytime is best suited for ages 2-½ to 5. Be sure to register at www.gcls.org or call 856-467-0111.

Tuesday Storytime (Laugh n’ Learn) – Storytime is a fun time!  Listen to stories, sing songs, and make a craft! We meet on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. April’s storytime dates are April 9, 16, 23, & 30. Storytime is best suited for ages 2-½ to 5. Registration is required.

Wednesday Storytime (Toddler Tales) – Join in the fun Wednesday morning for stories, dancing and crafts. Wednesday storytime is at 10:30 a.m. Dates for April are April 10, 17, & 24 – Library meeting room. Storytime is best suited for ages 2-½ to 5. Registration required.

 Baby Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Bring your baby to a fun time of music – familiar songs, activities and fingerplays. Baby Time is held on Thursdays, April 4 & 18, 10:30 a.m. Space is limited, registration is required.  

Toddler Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Your toddler will enjoy a fun time marching, playing instruments, learning fingerplays, and singing familiar songs. This month’s date is Thursday, April 11. Registration is required as space is limited.

Baby Fun Time – Saturday, April 20, 10:30 a.m. Join us once-a-month on a Saturday for Baby Fun Time. Your child will engage in fingerplays and songs, board books, and fun activities geared for ages infant to 2-1/2 years of age. Be sure to register at www.gcls.org or call 856-467-0111.

All GCLS libraries will be closed on Sunday, April 21 in observance of the Easter holiday.
