Students Share Poetry At Area Businesses

National Poetry Month takes place every April and schools across the country celebrate in a myriad of ways. In East Greenwich, our K-6 students read, write, recite and enjoy poetry in its many forms.  The last weekend in April, our district partnered with 30 area businesses to bring poetry beyond the walls of our schools and into our community. Businesses in East Greenwich, Mantua, Mullica Hill, Swedesboro, Woolwich, and Paulsboro welcomed our students into their establishments to recite a poem. After reading, students received a small treat in recognition of their public speaking accomplishment. Through this event, our students gained a love and appreciation for poetry, confidence when speaking in front of a group, and a connection with area businesses.
