FREE GED/HSE Preparation and Testing – Tuesdays, Sept. 10, 17, & 24, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Wednesdays, Sept. 11, 18, and 25, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. The classes are for High School Equivalency preparation and testing. Classes will also be available at other GCLS library branch locations on different dates and times. Please check our online calendar for details and any changes to times and dates.

Job Readiness Program:

50 Top Interview Questions & Applications – Wednesday, Sept. 11 – 1:30 to 3 p.m. Meet with an expert and learn the 50 most asked interview questions and receive guidance on the best way to answer. Also receive assistance filling out a job application.  Be sure to check our online calendar for changes.

Dress for Success & Interview Etiquette – Wednesday, Sept. 18 – 1:30 to 3 p.m. Learn from an expert what to wear on a job interview. Also receive interview etiquette tips and suggestions. Be sure to check our online calendar for changes.

Interview Practice – Wednesday, Sept. 25 – 1:30 to 3 p.m. Practice interview questions with an expert in the field. A great way to be prepared for your next interview. Be sure to check our online calendar for changes.

Yoga for Everyone – Fridays, Sept. 6 & 20 – 10:30 a.m. Learn basic yoga positions, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques. Please bring your own mat or towel and a water to drink.Space is limited, be sure to register.

Fall Wreath-Making – Wednesday, Sept. 25 – 6:30 p.m. All materials will be provided for you to make your own colorful fall wreath. Teen Writers’ Club – Monday, Sept. 9, 7 p.m. The Writer’s club will be on the second Mondays of each month. The time will be devoted to writing. You can work on your own writing or pull ideas from our binder. Your writings may be published in our Teen Express Literary Magazine.

Teen/Tween Gaming – Join us on Thursday, Sept. 19 – 6:30-8 p.m.  Play Xbox, Wii, DS’s, and traditional board and card games. Bring a friend and have a great time.  

Anime Club – Monday, Sept. 23 – 5 p.m. Anime meets on the fourth Mondays at 5 p.m. Feel free to come dressed in costume. You can also bring Pokemon cards or Yu Gi Oh cards to play, watch an Anime movie/show and/or draw Manga characters.  

Literacy Buddies – We are looking for teens interested in becoming a Literacy Buddy. Teens can work one-on-one with a child who needs help with reading, math, homework, or learning English. Commitment is one hour a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays from 4 to 5 p.m. Call 856-467-0111 for more information or stop in and fill out a volunteer form.

Teen Advisory Board – We welcome teens to join our Teen Advisory Board. Teen Board members will learn library skills, help plan teen activities, and/or work with children by becoming a Literacy Buddy. Call 856-467-0111 for more information.


FURever as Friends –   Monday, Sept. 16 6:30-7:30 p.m. Visit with our therapy animals, read to them, share a picture book, brush them, and/or give them a treat. Some of our animals even do tricks!  Registration is not required. Please stop at the front desk to ask for a waiver form so you can visit the animals. All ages welcome.

Literacy Buddies – Does your child need help with homework, reading or learning English – call us at 856-467-0111 and we will try to match your child with a Teen Volunteer. This program will be starting up the week of Sept. 23. Literacy buddies traditionally takes place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, from 4-5 p.m. Let us know which day is best for you.

Toddlers & Babies:

Tuesday Storytime (Laugh n’ Learn) – Storytime is a fun time. Listen to stories, sing songs, and make a craft. We meet on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. September’s storytime dates are Sept. 10, 17, and 24. Storytime is best suited for ages 2-½ to 5Registration is required.

Wednesday Storytime (Toddler Tales) – Join in the fun Wednesday morning for stories, dancing and crafts. Wednesday storytime is at 10:30 a.m. Dates for September are Sept. 11, 18, & 25 – Library meeting room. Storytime is best suited for ages 2-½ to 5. Registration required.

Baby Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Bring your baby to a fun time of music – familiar songs, activities and fingerplays. Baby Time is held on Thursdays, Sept. 5 & 19 – 10:30 a.m. Space is limited, registration is required.  

Toddler Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Your toddler will enjoy a fun time marching, playing instruments, learning fingerplays, and singing familiar songs. This month’s dates are Thursdays, Sept. 12 & 26 – 10:30 a.m.  Registration is required as space is limited. 

Saturday Storytime (Toddler Tales) – Saturday, Sept. 14 – 10:30 a.m. Join our once-a-month Saturday storytime. Listen to stories and do a fun craft. Storytime is best suited for ages 2-½ to 5. Be sure to register at www.gcls.org or call 856-467-0111.

Lego Club – Sept. 16, 4 p.m. – A monthly building challenge with Legos, Straws and Connectors, and Connecting Cubes. Children may bring their own legos. Ages 4-10.

Little Learners – Sept. 18, 4 p.m. –  A S.T.E.A.M. based program for little minds! We’ll be learning about our emotions. Ages 4-6. Please register.

New! Maker Monday – Sept. 30, 6:30 p.m. – Explore Snap Circuits, build 3-D objects, learn how to code and more! Ages 6-12. We will meet in the Young Adult area.

Crazy Cool Creations – Sept. 25, 4 p.m. –  A S.T.E.A.M based program for growing minds! We’ll be creating rock photo stands. Ages 6-12.
