1st Annual Stephen C. Kreps Memorial Basketball Game, March 19

SWEDESBORO — Please join the Swedesboro-Woolwich School District (SWSD) on March 19 at 6:30 p.m. for the First Annual Stephen C. Kreps Memorial Basketball Game.

In memory of Stephen Kreps, the 2019- 2020 sixth grade boys and girls basketball teams will take on the Walter Hill Staff in their annual student vs. staff basketball game. Tickets will sell for $8 per ticket and all proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to the Stephen C. Kreps Scholarship Fund. T-shirts will also be available for $12.

Last year on March 22, 2019, Kreps suffered a heart attack on the day of the annual teacher-student basketball game that he took part in every year.

The Stephen C. Kreps Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Steve Kreps, 6th grade teacher at the Walter Hill School. Mr. Kreps taught for 27 years at the Walter Hill School impacting the lives of thousands of students, parents, and staff who passed through the school.

Steve Kreps spent decades of his life teaching lessons to generations of children he inspired during his time as a science teacher at Walter Hill School at SWSD. The selected recipient of this award must display/demonstrate the desire to help others. It is the heart and character of the person, not their grades, that make them worthy of this award.

Tickets can be purchased by cash or check (payable to Swedesboro-Woolwich BOE) at the Walter Hill main office starting the week of March 2 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
