- Gyms and indoor amusement parks can open on Sept. 1 with 25% capacity limitations. The executive order mandates have not been released yet and were described as very dense and complicated, but some specifics mentioned were: fitness groups can only have 1 person per 200 square feet; masks must be worn; there must be logs of members and staff; there must be 6 foot social distancing between machines and people, including between trainer and client; equipment must be sanitized and only equipment that can be sanitized may be used; and showers will be closed with limited use of locker room. “Come dressed and leave dressed,” were Murphy’s words.
- Indoor dining – Murphy said he hopes to open indoor dining before mid-September, but he is “not hanging my hat on it”. He said the plans remain fluid. Movies are expected to open at the same time as indoor dining.
- The statewide positivity was 1.99%. In North Jersey 1.97%, Central Jersey 1.7%, South Jersey 2.44%
