9/11 Memorial Coming To East Greenwich

EAST GREENWICH, NJ – East Greenwich Mayor Dale Archer was proud to announce at the Committee Meeting on May 25 that the Municipal Building on Democrat Road would be receiving a 9/11 memorial in the near future.

The monument, which is scheduled to begin construction next month, will feature not only commemorative objects from all three crash sites, but a 60-foot flagpole as well.

In other business, Archer stated that two of the empty warehouses on Harmony Road will have occupants soon.  Jaguar & Land Rover Parts will be moving in by the end of summer and Elite Flowers LLC by the end of the year. The mayor was excited about the creation of jobs that will also accompany these new tenants.

Also, the intersections of Swedesboro and Harmony and Democrat and Swedesboro will be receiving remote cameras in the near future. An asphalt walkway at Thompson Park is also planned. Archer also stated that the dog park would soon have a cemented cage area.

In addition, there will be a Christmas Tree Lighting event planned this winter with the highlight being the New Jersey Mounted Police escorting Santa Claus to the festivities.

And due to the primary election coming up June 8, the meeting schedule on that date will be cancelled. Meetings will resume again on the June 22.
