StoryWalk Installed at Woolwich Township Locke Ave Park

The Gloucester County Library System, (GCLS) in partnership with the Woolwich Township Parks & Recreation Department recently installed StoryWalk® at Locke Ave Park.  A StoryWalk® is a fun, educational activity that provides a year-round family activity that combines the outdoors with literacy. The idea is to move from station to station reading a portion of a children’s book along the way. One needs to visit all 16 stations to find out how the story ends. Staff at the Swedesboro Library will change the story at least four times a year. The current story is, There’s a Superhero in Your Book, by Tom Fletcher and illustrated by Greg Abbott. This project would not be possible if not for the support of Woolwich Township Deputy Mayor, Natalie Matthias, Woolwich Township Director of Municipal Services Anthony Bertino, the Friends of GCLS, and a generous donation from an anonymous donor, as well as the parks and recreation maintenance crew for installing the kiosks.  For more information, phone 856-803-5124 or email Judith Pissano, GCLS Branch Manager, jpissano@gcls.org
