Shredding Event, Nov. 6 in Boro

SWEDESBORO – Council member Diane Hale stated at the Oct. 18 Swedesboro Council Virtual Meeting that there will be a community shredding event on Sat. Nov. 6, which will be open to both Swedesboro and Woolwich residents.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the empty lot between Cheega Funeral Home and Red Hen on Kings Highway.
Under Parks and Rec, Councilmember Joanna Gahrs announced that the Veteran’s Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 29 at the Holiday Inn in Logan. The event will begin at noon. The Quilts of Valor also being on hand to do a presentation.
Councilmember David Flaherty stated that starting next year, tree trimming work will begin near the dam at Park Avenue and East Avenue which will include cutting back larger trees that may be hanging into the lake.
Under engineering, it was announced that the water tower was now back in operation, and that the temporary tank that was being used during maintenance of the tower has been removed.
