Swedesboro Residents Part of New Executive Team At Lions Gate Retirement Community

VOORHEES — Lions Gate Continuing Care Retirement Community has announced three staff members to fill top executive positions to carry out its mission.

New Marketing Director and Swedesboro resident Gary Morris is no stranger to the senior living community, having more than 20 years of experience in the progressive marketing field and was instrumental in increasing occupancy, orchestrating re-branding campaigns and developing innovative volunteer program to encourage resident participation and activity at several other facilities.

Glen Mill, PA resident David Thompson has been promoted by the Board of Directors from his former role as CFO/COO to CEO.  Thompson had been the CFO since 2016 and was interim CEO when the position was vacated due to the loss of Lions Gate’s beloved CEO Susan Love.

Thompson has more than 29 years of healthcare management experience with an in-depth knowledge of healthcare operations at all levels. He specializes in team building, analysis and project management.

Meredith B. Becker, MHSA, LNHA of Cherry Hill, has assumed the position of COO. She comes to Lions Gate after several high-level leadership roles at major long term care facilities. Licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator with a Masters in Health Services Administration in Long Term Care Management, Becker is also is returning to the Lions Gate family, having been the Assistant Administrator and Associate Executive Director in the early 2000’s.

“It has been a difficult 18 months here and in the rest of the world, but we are recovering from the pandemic,” noted CEO Thompson, “I am pleased that Lions Gate has made these transitions all while keeping our focus on our residents to ensure they receive the quality care they deserve.  I am excited to already be working with our new team to ensure we continue to provide the best in care and concern for our residents. As of September, we are almost at full capacity and look forward to welcoming new arrivals to Lions Gate in the coming months.”
