Pajama Day at S/W Schools Raises Over $4,000 For Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia

SWEDESBORO — Swedesboro-Woolwich School District (SWSD) held its third annual Pajama Day Friday, Jan. 14 to raise funds for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).

SWSD families, staff, and community were encouraged to donate online on the CHOP’s website and wear their PJs to school on the Pajama Day. The district-wide Pajama Day fundraiser raised $4,175 for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

SWSD’s Community Hero Director Cheryl Serpiello organized the event for the third year as many SWSD families have visited or had extended stays at CHOP in recent years.

“The Swedesboro-Woolwich School District and community have children with a wide variety of needs, including some that are very seriously associated with medical conditions. So supporting a hospital that specializes in working with children was immediately embraced by the school community,” explained Serpiello.
