Kingsway Seniors of the Month for April

SENIORS OF THE MONTH FOR APRIL

Charlize Bjanes, daughter of Charles and Christine Bjanes of Woolwich Township.

CHARLIZE BJANES

School Activities: Charlize is a member of National Art Honor Society, National Honor Society, Photography Club, Art Club, and is the Girls Wrestling manager.

Out of School Activities:  Charlize does weight lifting, teaches art lessons to kids, worked as a barista at a coffee shop in Cape May, as well as Dunkin.

Honors/Awards: Secretary of National Art Honor Society and Vice President of Photography Club. First place winner of local Martin Luther King Day art competition-Regional contest to create a piece that portrays equality, honoring MLK Jr. Fallingwater Institute’s High School Residency: Drawing Intensive- Accepted into summer program, but canceled due to Covid-19.
Voted Best Artist-Awarded “Best Artist” title for senior superlatives of the 2022 yearbook.

Future Plans: After graduation, Charlize will start working as a barista at a shop in Cape May for the summer, then she will move into her dorm at Virginia Commonwealth University, and begin studying in the arts.

Victoria Griffiths, daughter of Paul and Kimberly Griffiths of Clarksboro.

VICTORIA GRIFFITHS

School Activities: Victoria is a member of Student Council – 2018-2022 Student Ambassadors – 2020-2022, FCA – 2019, Business Leadership Academy – 2018-2022, DECA Club – 2018-2022, 1st year Regional Finalist, 2nd year Regional 3rd Place / State Test Score Finalist, 3rd year Regional Virtual Finalist, Varsity Field Hockey – 2018-2022, and Varsity Softball – 2018-2022.

Out of School Activities: Victoria’s out of school activities include Club Field Hockey (2018-2022), Travel Softball (2018-2021), and Coach for Uprise Field Hockey u-12 Group. She has also done volunteer work as follows: -Volunteer for 3-day summer camp for Juvenile Correction Facility with Fellowship Bible Church Youth Leadership team (helped run games, served lunch, & held discussions aimed at sharing encouragement)
-2021 Made Cards and treats for hospital staff as appreciation for working during Covid of Virtua our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden and delivered them in person
-2021 & 2022 Youth Group student leadership team – Fellowship Bible Church
helped plan/prepare for weekly meetings as well as participated in multiple volunteer opportunities such as providing families with meals, creating encouragement cards, cleaning the church, etc.)
-2021 Tornado 2021 volunteer community relief
Clean up/meals for victims in affected communities within Gloucester County
-2020 Volunteer Teacher and aid for Paulsboro Boys and Girls Club
-2020 “Night to Shine” Dance Volunteer
-2019 Grace Baptist Church Santa Breakfast volunteer (time with Santa for the community kids)

Future Plans: Victoria will be attending Liberty University and playing Division One field hockey and majoring in Education. She hopes to become a high school English teacher and softball/field hockey coach. Eventually, in life, Victoria plans to become employed in school administration, most likely as an Athletic Director.
