Here comes the time, graduation time, a time some seniors have looked forward to since they arrived at high school. Others have an emotional moment as they say goodbye to their friends, teachers, and high school.
Regardless of our seniors’ perspective on graduation, the memories and ‘simpler times’ it represents as the graduates embark on their new journey hold immense value. With Kingsway’s graduation on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, seniors are forced to grasp the reality of their departure from Kingsway.
Senior Yulia Bidula reflects on her favorite memories from high school: the spring musical. A recipient of Kingsway’s National School Choral Award, Yulia said her biggest piece of advice is to “Go for it”.
High School is so incredibly fast, and she says the best thing she did was take advantage of the opportunities that came her way, taking a leap of faith and putting 100 percent into everything she did. Yulia will be attending the University of Pittsburgh to pursue her Doctor of Pharmacy in the Fall and cannot wait to continue choir and performing arts in her free time as well.
King of Kingsway, and co-student of the year, Teddy Oberg, reminisced on the two months of Kingsway Live! during his senior year. Not only was it one of the most magical nights of his life, but he felt it truly broke him out of his shell, making for a journey of a lifetime.
He tells underclassmen that high school isn’t ‘a piece of cake’, but is what you make of it. He urges students to stay motivated and passionate as he looks forward to this new chapter in his life, as he starts his path to becoming a teacher.
Natalie Lurwick finds her prom weekend the most memorable of her time here at Kingsway. As a nature lover, she loved hiking in the Poconos with her best friends.
She encourages dragons to get involved and build strong study habits. After graduation, she cannot wait to go to college at Widener University to earn her occupational therapy doctorate.
Derrick Cheng’s favorite memories were the senior trip to Disney and Kingsway Live! where he made life-long friends and memories.
He feels that high school truly flies by, but it should also be taken seriously since it impacts one’s future. Derrick will be attending Cornell University in the Fall, far from home, but a new opportunity to make friends and pave his future.
Student Council Executive Board Member Ariana Velez’s favorite memory was the student council’s ‘Give Back Day’, a day where students donate gifts to the children at Head Start, and a warm, inspiring memory for all. She encourages others to put themselves out there and get involved. Ariana herself joined the student council in her junior year, and got onto the executive board that winter.
Ariana is attending Arcadia University in the Fall, and she looks forward to the new beginnings and learning in a new environment.
Kingsway’s class of 2025 was one of the most memorable, impactful, and inspiring yet. These students have left an immense impression on our community. Now it’s time for a new chapter of their lives: new friends, new homes, and new experiences.
We’re so excited to see what these students do with the bright future ahead of them.
