Trinity Sunday School Enjoys A Variety Of Activities

trinity church webSWEDESBORO — Sunday School at Trinity “Old Swedes” Episcopal Church is alive and well.  Numbers are growing and the children enjoy learning.

In September they wrapped shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, run by Samaritan’s Purse.  In October, the children filled these shoeboxes with items purchased with their Sunday collections and they will were sent to children around the world as a way to share the Good News.

Many of the families enjoyed the fall festivities at their Halloween Party. Children decorated spooky cookies, made scary spiders, carved pumpkins, and even made a scarecrow. There was hot chili on the stove and hot dogs for the little ones as well as lots of treats for all.

On Nov. 18 each family in the church will have the opportunity to create an advent wreath as they come together once more. This event is open to adults as well as children. Everyone is encouraged to bring their favorites pizza to share.

Be sure to mark your calendar and invite family and friends for the St. Lucia Festival of Lights to be held on Dec. 11 in the church.  All children are encouraged to participate in this beautiful tradition. You will be glad you came.

Children and families are offered a variety of activities throughout the year. Children are encouraged to participate in as many opportunities as possible throughout the year as this is a wonderful means of fellowship.

Children are welcomed in the services and the church feels it is an integral part of their education. Unless requested otherwise, children are brought to their families each Sunday at the Peace so they can partake in Communion as a family. If parents do not feel their child is ready to take communion, children still come to the altar rail and the priest will say a blessing for them.  Training for First Communion classes will be arranged upon request.
