GLASSBORO — Several local individuals and organizations were honored at the 20th annual Spirit of Community Celebration sponsored by the Volunteer Center of South Jersey.
Honored as 2016 Volunteers of the Year were Judy Holmes of the Gloucester County Library System – Mullica Hill and Nancy Zappala of the Gloucester County Library System – Logan. Patricia McCall of the Gloucester County Library System – Mullica Hill was named as Volunteer Manager of the Year.
Dr. Laurie Appel was honored as a President’s Volunteer Service Silver Awardee and The New Town Press was awarded the 2016 Corporate Excellence Award.
The Volunteer Center’s mission is to change lives, empower families, and improve the community through volunteerism and the support of local non-profit organizations. The Volunteer Center promotes volunteerism in the region and connects both individuals and businesses with opportunities to serve.
