Kiwanis Celebrates 1st Anniversary

SEAL ONLYSWEDESBORO — The Kiwanis Club of Greater Swedesboro recently celebrated it’s one year anniversary.

Multiple projects were completed during the first year. The Kiwanis participated in Swedesboro / Woolwich Day, Logan Day, Swedesboro Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting, assisted in getting Santa to attend the tree lighting, held a citrus fruit sales fundraiser, sponsored a pancake fundraiser at Applebees, provided a pinwheel display at East Greenwich, Logan, and Woolwich Municipal Buildings to promote Child Abuse Prevention, participated in the Spring and Fall Woolwich Twp Clean Communities Cleanup Days, participated in the Salem County Great Pumpkin Carving event, placed trick or Treat collection boxes in local businesses to benefit UNICEF and the Eliminate Project.

They are also sponsoring a Kiwanis Key Club at KRHS, working toward getting a Kiwanis Terrific Kids Program started at Logan Township Schools, and starting a reading program at the Swedesboro Head Start Facility.

Kiwanis donated Christmas tree and decorations to Swedesboro, donated to Prevent Child Abuse New Jersey, donated a basket to Mario’s Fight Lemonade Stand, sponsored a hole at the Ted Hordichuk Open to benefit the NJ Kiwanis District Foundation, donated to Kiwanis International’s Children’s Fund, and donated to Kiwanis International /UNICEF’s Eliminate Project to eliminate neonatal tetanus.
