Adults:

Christmas in July Crafts – Wednesday, July 12, 6:30 p.m. It’s never too soon for Christmas. Get an early start on some Christmas projects now. Space is limited, so please register.

Tween/Teens:

Teen/Tween Book Club Blog – No time for a book club, but you love to read? Share your love of books in our new teen/tween book club blog. Write a short review on books you love or hate and find a new book to enjoy. Stop in to fill out a permission slip then start sharing your reviews. The slips will provide blog information.

Service Opportunity – Make a crochet baby blanket for Inspira.  Wednesday, July 19, 4 p.m. Space is limited. Participants must be registered.  Learn how to do the chain stitch and double crochet. Materials will be provided. Extra classes will be available for those registered: Friday, July 21 at 2 p.m.; Monday, July 24 at 2 p.m.; Wednesday, July 26 at 4 p.m.; and Monday, July 31 at 4 p.m.

Teen/Tween Gaming – Join us on Thursday, July 20, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Play Xbox, Wii, DS’s, and traditional board and card games. Bring a friend and have a great time.

Anime Club – Monday, July 24, 4:30 p.m. Anime meets on the fourth Mondays at 5 p.m. Feel free to come dressed in costume. You can also bring Pokemon cards or Yu Gi Oh cards to play, watch an Anime movie/show and/or draw Manga characters.

Service Opportunity – Make a fleece Blanket – Tuesday, July 25, 4 p.m. Learn how to make a fleece blanket and do something kind for someone else. The blanket will be given to a child at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).

Teen Advisory Board – We welcome teens to join our Teen Advisory Board. Be a Literacy Buddy and work with children, learn library skills, or help plan teen activities. Do you enjoy writing? Learn to write reviews and create a quarterly teen newsletter. Call 467-0111 for information on how you can volunteer or become an active member.

Literacy Buddies – Looking for teens interested in being a literacy buddy. Teens will work one-on-one with a child who needs help learning English, learning to read, or needs help with  homework. Commitment is one hour a week. Call 856-467-0111 if you are interested.

Children:

Summer Reading Registration. This year’s Summer Reading theme is “Build a Better World”.  Be sure to stop in and register. Children can participate by reading books, filling out logs and getting prizes and/or by attending summer reading programs. The program will end on Saturday, Aug. 5.

Decorate a Framed Mirror – Monday, July 10, 7 p.m. Decorate your own mirror with stencils, beads, and other adornments. Space is limited. Participants must be registered. This program is sponsored by Burgundy and Brushes.

Recycling Project – Tuesday, July 11, 2 p.m. How awesome can you embellish and recycle a cheese box for your own unique use? Space is limited so participants must be registered!

Make a bracelet from pull Tabs – You heard me right. Create your own awesome and unique bracelet – Thursday, July 13, 7 p.m. Participants must be registered as space is limited.

“Don’t Trash the Planet” – Monday, July 17, 2 p.m. Join us for this interactive program, “Don’t Trash the Planet” and learn about the 3R’s:  Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. This program is sponsored by Rutgers Cooperative. Register at www.gcls.org or call 856-467-0111.

FURever as Friends – Monday, July 17, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Read to our therapy animals, share a picture book, brush them, and/or give them a treat. Some of our animals even do tricks. Registration is not required. Permission slips to visit our animals are available at the front desk.

Center for Aquatic Sciences – Tuesday, July 18, 2 p.m. The Center for Aquatic Sciences presents “Building a Better World:  Creature Conservation.” Live animals will be part of this program! You won’t want to miss this educational and fun program. Please register as space is limited.

Tree-Mendous Fun – Monday, July 24, 7 p.m. Trees are amazing. Children will learn all about trees – how to tell their age, what products are made from trees, how seeds travel, and more. This program is best suited for grades 2nd through 4th and is sponsored by Rutgers Cooperative. Please be sure to register.

Flying in Style – Butterfly Craft – Tuesday, July 25, 6:30 p.m. Color your own butterfly backpack. Space is limited. Participants must be registered.

All About Bees – Thursday, July 27, 7 p.m. Shepherds Watch Farm will be coming with contained live bees, bee models, and displays to teach children all about bees. Try on a bee keeper’s garb Great interactive program. Please register as space is limited.

Introduction to Young Rembrandts Drawing Class – Monday, July 31, 7 p.m. Young Rembrandts offers an educational, fun experience that teaches children to draw a new frame-worthy piece of art during every class. Not only will students be having a positive experience drawing and coloring, but students will gain learning, developmental and social skills that will benefit them in the academic classroom again and again. This is an introductory class. Space is limited.  Students must be registered.

Toddlers & Babies:

Tuesday Story Time – Story Time is a fun time. Hear stories, sing songs, and make a craft. We meet on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. (Tuesdays, July 11, 18, & 25). Story Time is best suited for children ages 2-1/2 to 5 years of age. Registration required.

Wednesday Story Time and Dance – Join the fun Wednesday morning story times.  Wednesday morning story time meets at 10:30 a.m. July’s dates are July 12, 19, 26.  Library meeting room.  Registration required.

Baby Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Bring your baby to a fun time of music – familiar songs, activities and fingerplays.  Baby Time will be held on Thursday, July 20, 10:30 a.m. (Please note this month is not the usual 1st and 3rd Monday.) Registration required.

Toddler Music Time – “Sing, Dance, and Play” – Your toddler will enjoy a fun time marching, playing instruments, learning fingerplays, and singing familiar songs. This month’s dates are Thursdays, July 13 & 27, 10:30 a.m. Registration is required as space is limited.
