SWEDESBORO — Mark your calendars for Saturday, Sept. 30 for Swedesboro Woolwich Day and Kings Highway in downtown Swedesboro will be the place to be.
The event will kick off with the 11th running of the Dragon Run 5K. Registrations are available at www.naterocksheaven.com.
Swedesboro Woolwich Day begins at 9 a.m. and continues until 4 p.m. There will be two stages for continuous entertainment, plus lots to see and do. The full entertainment schedule is available on our website.
Be sure to visit some of the over 100 vendors that will line Kings Highway, or watch as a chainsaw sculpture artist creates a masterpiece. Ever want to try riding a mechanical bull? You will have your chance to try it for free during Swedesboro Woolwich Day.
How about a trip back in time? Visit British Cavalryman Emery Dawes, his wife, and his horse at the John C. Rulon House. Reenactors for the Revolutionary War will hold cooking demonstrations all day, and a contingent from the 17th Light Dragoons (Revolutionary War) will hold musket firing demonstrations at 11a.m., 12 p.m., 1p.m., 2 p.m, and 3 p.m.
There will be free moon bounces and face painting for the kids, and tempting food choices for everyone. Save some room if you plan on entering the pizza eating contest sponsored by Pat’s Pizza. Registrations will only be taken during the event at the restaurant, and space is limited.
A car show will take place in front of Borough Hall of which proceeds will support the Nathaniel Boerlin Scholarship Fund. Shuttle buses will run continuous loops from Kingsway High School, Walter Hill School, and Charles Stratton School to the event.
Plan on celebrating our community with local businesses, local nonprofits, and local talent on Sept. 30. This event will be held rain or shine.
