NAMES IN THE NEWS

Allison Ragonese of Logan Township was named to the Deans Honor Roll at Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kan., for the fall 2017 semester. Ragonese is a freshman majoring in general studies.

Thomas A. Meyers (US Army) of Woolwich Township and Francis H. Swope Jr. (US Army) of Mullica Hill were among 31 veterans honored on April 11 by the Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders with federal medals that they had earned during their time in service but had not received.

Regan Healey of Woolwich Township and Wesley College student, was awarded the George McLaughlin, Jr. Memorial Scholarship which was established by his family and friends in memory of George McLaughlin, Jr. who was killed in the 9/11 attacks. This scholarship is awarded annually to a worthy student with a preference for students from New Jersey majoring in Business and involved in social and/or extracurricular activities.

Christopher Lippincott of Swedesboro is currently serving as a maintainer with Marine Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Squadron 3, Marine Aircraft Group 24, 1st Marine Aircraft at Marine Corps Air Station, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. He was recently featured in a Defense Visual Information Distribution Service article.

Jasmine McLaurin, daughter of Jeffrey and La-Tonya McLaurin of Mount Royal, will graduate on May 12 from Virginia Union University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education with a minor in Mathematics. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education.
