Clear the Shelters Finds Homes For County Shelter Animals

CLAYTON — On Saturday, Aug. 18 the Gloucester County Animal Shelter (GCAS) participated in the fourth annual Clear the Shelters event, helping to find loving homes for 12 cats and 10 dogs by waiving adoption fees on all animals in the shelter.

Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said, “Across the country, 91,190 animals found new forever homes during this event. Gloucester County is incredibly proud to have been a part of this event and help the number of animals in forever homes grow and help families who otherwise wouldn’t have been able to afford a pet have the chance to bring a new furry friend into their homes.”

Freeholder Dan Christy said, “We are so happy to find homes for any of our animals, and we know our furry friends who got picked up during the event are just as happy to have a family.”
