SWEDESBORO — I answered a Facebook question, “Do you believe in the magic of Christmas?” My answer was that I do and have proof that it exists.
I see it every year when a Community comes together to help people that are less fortunate. The freedom of donations of time, talent, and “Good Cheer” are so overwhelming. The love for your fellow man was witnessed by the King’s Things crew that worked at the Acme market in Logan these past weeks. A local business working to collect coats, the schools, local business, the scouts collecting foods have a deep impact on me.
This year you helped King’s Things move seven families from being homeless. Through the food
Pantry, you feed 2,000 people. Through your donation of funds and merchandise you helped countless families keep the light on in their homes, warmed their homes. You stopped the eviction of families.
Yes, I believe in the Magic of Christmas.
This year as in years past we plan on helping 200 families. Each family will receive a poinsettia grown locally by G and G farms, fresh fruit from Rick Nardella, a turkey, food for a Christmas dinner and a week. Each child aged to 18 will receive multiple Christmas gifts.
If you would like to help, the schedule for 2019 is Monday, Dec.16 food sorting, Tuesday, Dec.17 buying missing products, Wednesday, Dec. 18 packing, Thursday, Dec.19 gift sorting, and Saturday, Dec.21 delivery.
