MULLICA HILL — It’s the holiday season once again and there’s no better place to celebrate than Main Street Mullica Hill.
The town is dressed in holiday splendor and can’t wait to welcome you. With lots of family fun planned, there is no need to look anywhere else to get in the holiday spirit.
Start with the third annual Photos and S’mores with Santa Charity Event and 2nd Annual Old Fashioned Christmas shopping Village hosted by Farm House Design and Farm House Table.
Owner Hazel Dilsaver is so excited for the upcoming Christmas season. “We just celebrated 21 years in town during the Fall Festival and it was amazing, and the holiday season is just a continued celebration, one big party. But now the real fun starts. We are on track to raise more money this year than before. We will donate all toys and portion of the proceeds to children’s charity through Acenda health in Glassboro.”
“Last year Channel 6 News came and shot a feature with us. I was so nervous,” said Dilsaver. “But it was a great way to let everyone see what we were doing with our charity and here at the shops.”
Tickets are $6 each and children will be able to sit with Santa and tell him their Christmas wishes. Children will also receive a s’more kit they can make here at the bonfire. Photo spots will be set up and our little cocoa hut will be decorated.
“It is really important to me to give back,” said Dilsaver. “I have been so blessed here in Mullica Hill, and the support to Shop Local and Shop Small this year has been tremendous.”
This year in our Old-Fashioned Christmas Shopping Village, there will be fresh greens for fill your own container or make your own wreath. There will be bunches and bunches of cedar, pine, seeded eucalyptus and pinecones for you to choose from.
Candles in holiday scents, antiques, baskets, and crates will be set up in tents fireside. Flossys will be joining in with crystal trimmed fur ear puffs, hats and scarves. Live music with Joe Grasso and hot cocoa will be available from Mademoiselle Macaron.
But that’s not all the fun. There will also be A Merry Mullica Hill Christmas event. Story time with the elves at Cherry on Top, cookie house display at Flossys, cheese tastings at Farm House Table where you can find specialty cheese, jam, table hoods and gift baskets.
Holiday craft classes at Dsigned for you and Christmas movies and popcorn at Perfect Blend Teas, and everyone will play reindeer games – corn hole, ring toss or pin the nose on Rudolph.
There will be photo spots set up throughout town, such as an antique sleigh at the Parsonage that you can sit in for photos. There will be bon fires and treats each week.
And something really special – a great big thank you to First Class Travel for donating a trip to Hershey Hotel. Enter to win a weekend away. Details available in stores.
“We really pulled out all the stops this year,” said Dilsaver. “We want people to come to town and feel like they are in a Hallmark movie. We hear it all the time. This kind of charm can’t be replicated, and it is important to preserve the integrity and charm of the street.”
“There is so much to do in town so plan to spend the day. With lunch or dinner with Blue Plate, we recommend everything. The braised beef short rib or the seafood pasta or the best cheesesteak you ever had.”
Mademoiselle macaron is open with afternoon tea, lunch sandwiches and macarons that are to die for, said Dilsaver. Reservations for tea are recommended and book up quickly.
For dessert, definitely hit up Cherry on Top for ice cream or Amiche of Mullica Hill for cupcakes and cookies.
