SWEDESBORO — Trinity “Old Swedes” Historic Preservation Foundation’s annual BBQ, Beer & Bourbon fundraiser dinner will be held at Rode’s Barn located on 533 Kings Highway in Swedesboro on Oct. 30 from 3:30 to 7 p.m.
The dinner includes BBQ chicken, pulled pork, coleslaw, mac & cheese, cornbread, homemade desserts, tea, coffee, and domestic beer for just $30 per person. Live musical entertainment will be provided, and diners can eat-in or take-out.
There will be two seatings, at 3:30 and 5:45 p.m. and reservations are encouraged. Reservations can be made, and tickets purchased at https://www.trinityswedesboro.org/event-info/bbq-beer-and-bourbon. Tickets can also be purchased at the door.
A premium bourbon guided tasting by Executive Bourbon Steward, Lanny Lewis will be held at 5 p.m. A tasting of four of Kentucky’s most distinguished whiskeys is offered at a cost of $25 in advance or $30 at the tasting.
Lanny is a graduate of the Moonshine University in Louisville, Kentucky, has led over 200 bourbon tastings and is a member in good standing of the Stave & Thief Society, a nationally recognized organization of whiskey consultants and private collectors.
Trinity Church was founded as a Swedish Lutheran parish in 1703 and the current structure was built in 1784, when the congregation chose to affiliate with the Episcopal Church of America.
