Logan decides not to move on application for Oak Grove warehouse variance

LOGAN TWP. – The Logan Township Zoning Board of Adjustment decided not to make a motion on an application by Sun Light Logan for a zoning variance to construction three warehouses on property located on Oak Grove Road in Logan Township near Bridgeport.

On Feb. 13 after a public presentation by representatives from Sun Light Logan, LLC, questions by the zoning board member and attorneys, as well as sworn testimony by a large number of residents in the public portion of the meeting, the board felt that it was not in the interest of the residents to move forward with the application.

The plan presented by Sun Light Logan called for the development of three warehouse/distribution/office buildings and related site improvements on approximately 64 acres Oak Grove Road near the I-295 overpass. The acreage is current in the Residential-5 Zoning.

Warehouse “A” was proposed to be 304,200 square feet in size with 196 car parking spaces, 49 loading berths, and 75 truck parking spaces. Warehouse “B” was proposed to be 291,000 square feet in size with 200 car parking spaces and 59 loading berths. Warehouse “C” was proposed to be 150,000 square feet in size with 117 car parking spaces and 27 loading berths.

If there is a further request for a zoning variance on this particular piece of property, the developer would have to submit an entirely new plan and go through the variance request process again.
