SWEDESBORO — This summer, Macy Lee, from Swedesboro, will join outstanding elementary school students from across the nation to take part in a unique academic and career-oriented development experience, the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, DC.
The Junior National Young Leaders Conference is one of the Envision by WorldStrides family of programs (www.envisionexperience.com) that enable students to explore their interests and experience learning beyond the classroom.
Macy Lee was nominated for the Junior National Young Leaders Conference by her fifth-grade ELA and Social Studies teacher, Ms. Guht from South Harrison Elementary. For the past two years, Macy was selected to participate in the Science Gifted and Talented program at her school and was elected as Class Representative for Student Council for two years.
At school, Macy is involved in Drama Club and Chorus, she enjoys the time spent with friends at rehearsals and putting on performances. Macy has been named to The Principles List for her exceptional grades at South Harrison and has also been named Student of the Month several times throughout the past years which is a formal recognition for pupils who consistently demonstrate respect, responsibility, and kindness.
Outside of school, Macy practices piano and plays soccer and basketball. When she grows up, Macy wants to become a mechanical engineer because she is interested in machines and mechanisms.
