Computer Class: Microsoft Windows. Thursdays, Aug. 22 through Sept. 26, 2 to 4 p.m. Do you feel a little lost or left behind when it comes to computers? This 6 week series will build your knowledge and your confidence as you learn what Windows actually is, as well as how to find and open programs and files, how to save and move files, and when to use the Start menu, flash drives, and more. Medicare with Confidence: Thursday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. Turning 65 or want to learn more about Medicare? This educational seminar will educate you on Medicare basics, important terminology, enrollment periods, plan types available and cost assistance. Medicare is not a one size fits all. You will also learn about the changes to Medicare in 2025 due to the Inflation Reduction Act. Attending this educational seminar will allow you to understand “Medicare with Confidence.” Please register.

Gaming Get-Together: Fridays, September 6, 13, 20 & 27 at 1 p.m.Get together and play a game with other novices at the library! There is a different game highlighted every week. This is a friendly group, but some experience/knowledge of the game is a plus. Please register, as we have limited sets.

Vinyl Cutter Certification: Friday, Sept. 6 at 5 p.m. & Tuesday Sept. 24 at 2 p.m. Learn to create custom vinyl decals and paper cutouts with our Silhouette Cameo. Once you’ve completed this 1 hour course, you’ll be able to reserve time to use our Silhouette machines at other GCLS locations. Please register.

3D Printer Certification: Tuesday Sept. 10 at 5 p.m. & Friday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. Get certified to use our MakerBot Replicator+ 3D printer, and start your own Maker Movement today. Talk Saves Lives – An Introduction to Suicide Prevention: Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. Talk Saves Lives is an educational program that provides participants with a clear understanding of this leading cause of death, including the most up-to-date research on suicide prevention, and what can be done in communities to save lives. Participants will learn common risk factors and warning signs associated with suicide, and how to keep themselves and others safe.
