WOOLWICH TWP. — Kingsway Regional High School has named several new head coaches to lead its cheerleading, girls volleyball, and co-ed swim programs this year.

This announcement comes after Dana Ott takes the reins as the new head field hockey coach this fall.

Alexandra Duca, a graduate of Ohio State University and newly appointed high school teacher of Italian, was named head fall cheerleading coach. Coach Duca is a 2012 graduate of Shawnee High School where she cheered eight seasons for football and basketball. She also coached several youth cheerleading teams and volunteered at her alma mater for four years. She is passionate and enthusiastic to begin her coaching career at Kingsway Regional High School. Coach Duca earned her graduate degree in Italian from Rutgers University.

Jacqueline Barnes, a graduate of Kutztown University and high school teacher of Spanish, was named head girls volleyball coach. Coach Barnes is a 2011 graduate of Chichester High School where she has worked numerous summer camps at Neumann University and played recreationally in an adult league. Coach Barnes has been doing a great job with the team and has been working with our student athletes all summer. She is excited for the season as it gets underway this September. Coach Barnes is pursuing a graduate degree in secondary education from West Chester University.

Shane Tubb was named head boys and girls swim coach. Coach Tubb graduated from St. Augustine High School and Rider University where he swam and was named captain. Coach Tubb holds multiple records in individual and relay events. Prior to joining Kingsway, he coached youth swim at Tidewater Aquatic Club in West Deptford and has coached numerous summer swim teams over the years. Coach Tubb is very experienced and is looking forward to continuing to build a strong swim tradition at Kingsway.

“We are very excited to have Coaches Duca, Barnes and Tubb join a talented cadre of Kingsway coaches. We look forward to each coach bringing positive energy, new skills and current knowledge of the sport they will coach,” said Kingsway’s Superintendent Dr. James J. Lavender. “I am confident each coach will be a prominent influence on our student athletes.”
