MITCHELL — Louis A. Miscioscia Mitchell died July 26 at home. He was 82 years old. Born in Camden, he was a long time resident of Swedesboro until moving to Monroe Township.
After serving in the US Army, and graduating from Temple University in Philadelphia in both the undergraduate and pharmacy programs, he owned and operated White’s Pharmacy in Swedesboro and West Main Pharmacy in Penns Grove. After retirement, he served as a clinical pharmacist at Rutgers University in New Brunswick for six years.
Widely recognized and respected in health care, Lou held membership and leadership positions in many county, state and national pharmacist associations, including serving as president of National Community Pharmacists Association. He also was a member of many local civic and service organizations, including Rotary International.
He was predeceased by his parents, Luigi and Theresa (Guilmo) Miscioscia, a son, Louis A. Mitchell, brothers, Leonard Mitchell and Anthony Miscioscia, and a sister, Elizabeth Dean.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rose Marie (Fetsko) Mitchell, a daughter, Carmel Greenberg and her husband, Eric, a son, David Mitchell and his wife, Jenny, four grandson, Jackson and Charlie Greenberg and Matt and Luke Mitchell, his brother, Dr. Richard Mitchell. MD and a large and loving extended family.
