WOOLWICH TWP. — Rachel Murdock, Christina Mallozzi, and Olivia Barnhardt, all of Woolwich Township, recently took home top national awards at two national dance finals.
All three dance with Dance Conservatory in Woodstown, New Jersey.
Murdock was the First Overall Teen Soloist with her solo, “Feelin’ Good,” at the OnStage NY National Finals in New York City. Mallozzi was fifth Overall Teen Soloist, tapping to “Follow the Leader.”
Murdock was also in the High Score junior group, “I’m Into You,” which won a special judges’ award for “Power and Attack”. Mallozzi’s duet, “Popular,” was fifth overall in the teen duet division.
Murdock and Mallozzi were both in the sixth place teen group, “Run the World,” that also won a special award for “Exceptional Precision.” The studio as a whole received the Versatility Award.
The winning continued at the national finals for Legacy, held at Cape May Court House. Murdock and Mallozzi both received platinums for their solo’s.
Murdock’s small group, “I’m Into You,” was fifth overall in the junior division. Murdock and Mallozzis large group, “Run the World,” placed fifth in the teen division.
Mallozzi’s duet was tenth overall. Barnhardt, Murdock, and Mallozzi were in a line, “Newsies,” that placed ninth in the line division. The Dance Conservatory also won the Sportsmanship Award at the Legacy Nationals.
